A city of a thousand faces, conveniently located between Lyon and Paris, Chalon-sur-Saône is designated as a “City of Art and History” for its rich cultural heritage. It is also the home town of Nicéphore Nièpce, the inventor of photography, who made Chalon-sur-Saône its birthplace. The fine wine of the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise has nothing to envy its Côte d’Orien neighbours.
