A family
affair
Four generations
of hotel and restaurant owners
Discover the history of the Jacquier family, driven by their passion for the hotel and restaurant business. For four generations, the founders of the Hôtels Bourgogne Qualité Group have been upholding the tradition of service and hospitality in their 2 to 5-star hotels in Burgundy and Paris.
The story began when, at the age of 18, Alain Jacquier, the current chairman of the Group, took over the management of the Hotel Ibis Styles Le Central, founded by his grandmother in 1928. He passed on his values and love of the business to his son Patrick, who then joined the Group as general manager. Next it was the turn of Patrick’s children, Caroline and Anthony, to join the family venture, both assuming the role of deputy general managers. Hôtels Bourgogne Qualité is first and foremost a family affair, shaped by its strong ties and attachment to the Burgundy region.
A Burgundy
connection
As an ambassador of Burgundy, the Jacquier family demonstrates this attachment through its various establishments. It is in Dijon, capital of the Dukes of Burgundy, that the business began before expanding to other towns in the region. These include Beaune, a favourite for wine lovers with its world-renowned Hospices de Beaune wine auctions, and Chalon-sur-Saône, a town of art and history.
The Group continues to grow and develop its portfolio of 2 to 5-star hotels to respond to its clientele’s needs, with customer satisfaction remaining an absolute priority for the Jacquier family. With the opening of the Mercure Paris 17 Batignolles in 2018 and the Novotel Suites Paris CDG Airport Villepinte in 2020, the Group is now well-established in the Parisian region in two strategic locations. The Batignolles district, with its small village atmosphere and proximity to the Arc de Triomphe, offers a distinctly personal feel, while the second hotel enjoys a prime location between Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Paris Nord-Villepinte Exhibition Centre.
However, even in Paris, the Jacquier family is keen to assert its Burgundy roots! Indeed, the Bar à Bourgogne, in the very heart of the Hotel Mercure Paris 17 Batignolles, proudly celebrates this legendary region of wine lovers and bon vivants, offering some of the finest appellations from the Burgundy hillsides. Breakfast is an invitation to savour regional produce such as gingerbread. And in your room, be sure to sample the little Burgundy delicacies we have provided for your enjoyment such as Nonettes cakes, Anis de Flavigny lozenges and Crème de Cassis liqueur, all of which will give you a real taste of the region.
